The Brain Body Connection

Presented by Dr. Todd Roach, D.C. and Occupational Therapist Francesca Knedlhans, MS, OTR/L. This symposium will focus on solid nutritional and therapeutic action families can take if they have a child who is experiencing any number of challenges including: being a picky eater, having a short temper, problems with bowel regulation, separation anxiety, social issues, headaches, lack of organization skills, difficulty with tactile feelings, poor sleeping habits and more.

Winter Dinosaur Exhibit

Lake View Nature Center | Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.


This special exhibit features the Apatosaurus, one of the largest land animals that ever existed.  View an Apatosaurus skull and leg bones, see how you measure up to an Apatosaurus leg and footprint, touch a fossilized dinosaur bone and coprolite and more.

Japan and Nature: Spirits of the Seasons

Kohl Children's Museum | Glenview, Ill.

A multi-media, interactive, exhibit that allows children to discover how nature is reflected and celebrated in the lives of Japanese children through special seasonal environments and traditional Japanese activities. The exhibit focuses on the regions of Lake Biwa, Sapporo, Kyoto and Fukuoka, offering an in-depth exploration of each region through video, audio and visual media, as well as authentic props and hands-on interactive activities.

Storytelling: Inspiring Traditions for Generations

Mitchell Museum of the American Indian | Evanston, Ill.

Exhibit looks at the many ways Native Americans tell the history of their people through visual and oral traditions. It contains more than sixty artifacts from tribes throughout the United States and Canada, including an Ojibwe drum, Winnebego jingle dress and Navajo rug.

Cost: $5, $3 fseniors, students and kids; free museum members and Tribal members
