Passport to the World: Ireland

Chicago Children's Museum | Chicago, Ill.

Learn about Puck Fair and take a picture with Shamus, the "goat king" of Ireland. Play Irish skittles, make a Grogoch (a helpful Irish fairy) and meet some real live Irish Wolfhounds. Plus live Irish music and dancing.

Cast Candles

DuPage Children's Museum | Naperville, Ill.

Make molds out of various materials, add embellishments, shapes and stripes and create numerous colorful candles out of melted paraffin.

Scenes from the Stone Age

The Field Museum | Chicago, Ill.

Scenes from the Stone Age: The Cave Paintings of Lascaux transports visitors to the Lascaux cave in France, where they'll discover prehistoric cave paintings. Walk through a full-sized replica of the cave, meet a lifelike stone-age family and play with interactive displays explaining the life of people who may have inhabited the cave.

Tickets are included in both Discovery and All-Access passes to the museum.

Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat

The Cat in the Hat is the perfect friend for a boring rainy afternoon. From games and mischief to Thing One and Thing Two, The Cat brings all sorts of trouble to this gray day--but will Sally and her brother be able to explain the mess to Mother? Performances run Jan. 26-June 9, 2013.

The Frog Prince Continued

When happily ever after isn't what he expected, the Frog Prince heads out for a new adventure. While searching for his true amphibian self, he meets witches from Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel, and Cinderella's Fairy Godmother. Performances run Jan. 26-June 9, 2013.
