The new Railway Garden, a G-gauge model railway running through a 2.5 acre site, opens April 30. Visitors enter through a 1920s-era railway depot to see trains running through a garden of miniature plants, water features and a variety of landscapes. May 1 through October.

Elmo is coming to the Kohl Children's Museum. In advance of his show, "Elmo's Super Heroes" at the Akoo Theatre in Rosemont (which runs May 3-6), Elmo is dropping in at the Kohl Museum for one hour. He'll talk to kids and pose for photos. Might want to call ahead to make sure they're not sold out.
