Family drop-in program includes crafts, books and board games, along with breakfast treats from Blue Max Coffee. Plus, a fun story time by the fireplace at 10:30.

Interactive learning centers include a barn slide, apple orchard and chicken coop. Maggie, a life-sized fiberglass milking cow sponsored by Golden Oaks Farm in Wauconda, will be the focus of the new exhibit. Maggie is over five feet tall and features a working udder that recirculates the water that children "milk."

Celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America Day with coloring activities, facepainting, readings, childrens' book discounts, cake, and special guests: Seuss crafts with Wishcraft Workshop (10 a.m.), Seuss-inspired drama games with Emerald City Theatre Company (11 a.m.), Music and movement fun with Marsha's Music (noon).

Parents, caregivers, educators, therapists and professionals can learn more about apraxia and associated issues at meetings held on the first Thursday of each month. The meeting format rotates between informational/networking to topic- or speaker-driven. Meeting locations vary.
