Nature-inspired stories, crafts and activities for kids 3-5 with
Kids are invited to explore the Observatory and collect
goodies around every corner.
Start your Halloween off by making an eek-o-friendly mask out of
cereal boxes and learn about some of our favorite Halloween
critters: bats, rats, snakes and owls. Kids can choose to make a
butterfly, bird, owl or fox mask to take home.

McCormick Place's Lakeside Center will be transformed into
a huge Halloween Party with trick or treating around the sponsor
booths, D.J. playing music, a kid zone complete with bounce houses
and games. Costumes encouraged, but not required.
Activities include hay rides, crafts, carnival games, moonwalk,
entertainment, prizes, candy and trick or treating. Or dare to go
through the haunted house. Pre-registration deadline is Oct.

Shoes are not permitted; please wear socks.
Halloween games and fun for kids of all ages, and each child
will go home with a Halloween goody bag filled with candy and fun
Halloween-themed toys. Plus, free pizza and pop.
New exhibit showcases 50 rare and unique objects from the
Sterling Morton Library's collections. The artifacts include a
collection of butterflies that is more than 100 years old, an
Eskimo bone carving, original woodblocks, and metal sculptures.
Explore a modern cabinet of curiosities, with drawers that pull out
and doors that open to reveal objects and interactive games, share
your vision of a library in 50 years, and take part in a
library-wide scavenger hunt.
The exhibit transforms seven beloved and
award-winning picture books - "The Tale of Peter Rabbit," "The
Snowy Day," "Where's Spot?" "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie," "Chicka
Chicka Boom Boom," "Abuela," and "Tuesday" - into
three-dimensional, bilingual play and learning environments.
