Build Bash

Girls Supporting Girls | Chicago, Ill.

A family-focused open house loaded with live entertainment, crafts, activities, and delicious food from some of the city's favorite dining spots. Ralph's World performsn, as well as Chicago's hip-hop performance artists Q Brothers and Nili Yellin, the Storybook Mom. Family movement sessions led by Mind Art Core Pilates Performance, face painting, crafts, and other activities. Food and beverages provided by Shaw's Crab House, Glazed & Infused Doughnuts, Big Star, Eli's Cheesecake Company, RM Champagne Salon, and PepsiCo. Eggs to Chicks

Kohl Children's Museum | Glenview, Ill.

The exhibit features the rare Black Java and White Java strains of chicken, which were an endangered species less than a decade ago. Includes a special child-height egg incubator, hatchery unit and a pen for newborn chicks. Runs from March 18-June 16.

Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives

Museum of Science and Industry | Chicago, Ill.

The exhibit showcases the creative accomplishments and innovations of one of Chicago's native sons, Walt Disney, and the ongoing legacy of the company that bears his name. Features artifacts that have not been widely seen by the public, including drawings, props, costumes, artwork from classic Disney animation, theme park attractions, TV shows and live action films, plus items from contemporary Disney milestones. Hands-on, interactive stations bring Disney's technological breakthroughs in animation and motion pictures to life. Guests can try recording sound effects, explore Disney's revolutionary MultiPlane film camera and learn to draw some of their favorite Disney characters in the Animation Academy.

The Three Little Pigs

When the pigpen starts to look like a real sty, Mama says it's time to leave and build something new. Help Cha, Stu, and Bao watch for wolves while they use hay, sticks, and bricks to make it in a big, bad world. Performances run Jan. 22-May 17, 2014.

Ramona Quimby

Ramona Quimby is about to start 3rd grade and everything is about to change. Her sister Beezus guides us through a full year on Klickitat Street, bringing a change for Dad, a rivalry for Ramona, and the speediest wedding this side of Alaska. Runs from Feb. 6-May 18.

Alice in Wonderland

Li'l Buds Theatre Company | Chicago, Ill.

Li'l Buds presents an original adaptation of the stories of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Performances run 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays; 5:30 p.m. Sundays from May 3-25.

Little Princess: The Musical

The Wilmette Theatre | Wilmette, Ill.

This magical musical story is filled with adventure, imagination, friendship, family in a multicultural world and ultimate triumph defying the class prejudices. Performances run 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. April 26; 2 p.m. April 27, May 3 and May 4.
