Family Adventures

Learn to use a GPS to find hidden clues along our trails, shoot a bow and arrow, build shelters in the woods, or work together to build a fire. End the afternoon with a cookout (grills are provided).

Mozart's Magnificent Voyage

Ravinia Festival | Highland Park, Ill.

This show in the Classical Kids series features Mozart’s young son, Karl, who longs to  spend more time with his famous father. An old traveling trunk serves as a magic chest that reveals an incredible journey back in time to Mozart’s childhood and into the fantastic world of Mozart’s great opera The Magic Flute. Audiences will enjoy 23 excerpts of the master’s music, played by the Elgin Youth Symphony, including themes from Mozart’s operas The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni, popular excerpts from The Magic Flute, and some of his most important and engaging works such as Ave Verum, Symphony No. 1, Clarinet Quintet, and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.

The Secret Ways of the Egret

Pleasant Valley Conservation Area | Woodstock, Ill.

Read poems by Jane Yolan that are all about egrets. Each poem tells us more about the egret’s secrets and helps us find out more about the wonderful white bird. Play games, do a small craft and search for egrets.

MARVEL Weekend

Wendy & DB Children's Concert

Wendy & DB love to get kids singing, wiggling, jumping, dancing having a great time. Their original songs encourage children to use their imaginations, teach musical basics like melody and rhythm, and show kids how to have fun with words. Also includes face painting, photo booth fun and ice cream.

The Two Gentlemen of Verona

Set against the backdrop of the 1896 Yukon Gold Rush, The Two Gentlemen of Verona features prospectors, saloon gals, and outlaws. Follow this zany troupe as they travel from Verona to Yukon to seek their fortune and find love. This family-friendly, 90-minute version of The Two Gentlemen of Verona is a great introduction to Shakespeare as well as a new take on a classic comedy.
