Froggy Picnic

The Morton Arboretum | Lisle, Ill.

Visit the frogs near their homes, view live tadpoles, learn to recognize different frog calls and make some froggy music of your own. A picnic lunch will be included, and picnic blankets are welcome.

Campout at Emily Oaks

Emily Oaks Nature Center | Skokie, Ill.

Roast marshmallows and sing songs around a campfire, enjoy a breakfast cooked outdoors, and participate in other fun activities. A personal supply list will be e-mailed to you prior to the campout. Tents, cooking equipment, and food provided. Adults are required to register.

When: 6:30 p.m.-10 a.m.

Nature Navigators: Butterflies and Moths

Lake View Nature Center | Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.

Kids experience the world of butterflies and moths through activities and an art project. Review metamorphosis and learn how these winged creatures use their senses to find food and avoid predators. Dress for a nature hike.

When: 1-4 p.m.

Breakfast with the Fairies

Pilcher Park Nature Center | Joliet, Ill.

Enjoy pancakes, sausage and a beverage with special fairies visiting tables. Price includes admission to the Fairy Festival following breakfast.

Nature's Wild Garden

Prairieview Education Center | Crystal Lake, Ill.

Hear a story about the ways that wind, water, birds and animals help plant nature's garden. Using games and a hike we will spend time outdoors looking for examples of nature's seed dispersal. Dress for the weather and a hike.

Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries

Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang take center stage in an all-new family musical that features some of the world's most popular characters from one of television's longest-running animated series, Performances are 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday May 3.
